Creative Women’s Week began for one very simple reason — I wanted to craft for an entire week straight… and it didn’t exist in Saskatchewan where I live. So I created it.
What started as one event quickly took on a life of its own. After the very first retreat, a waitlist formed — and those women were never going to get in unless I hosted more. Some were traveling incredible distances just to attend, so instead of asking everyone to come to me, I started bringing Creative Women’s Week to them. That’s how multiple retreats were born.
I originally considered monetizing the events to fund travel and expansion, but I chose a different path. Keeping Creative Women’s Week affordable and accessible felt more aligned with my heart. One of my core values is doing something every day that serves others — and this is the most joyful way I know how. These retreats allow me to celebrate women, create space for them to be honored… and sometimes gently remind them to honor themselves, too.
When it comes to crafting, I truly love it all. Scrapbooking is my first creative love, especially designing mini albums, but I also make custom shirts, work with sublimation, and spend time in my pottery studio getting my hands messy in the best way. If it involves creating, I’m in. And if it involves organizing craft supplies or retreats… even better.
Outside of the craft room, you’ll usually find me in the garden, camping, kayaking, or doing just about anything outdoors. I’ve been with my husband for 25 years, and gratefully, he knows how to use our laser cutter — which means he creates all the wooden gifts you receive at the crops. We’re a bit of a creative team. We also share our home with our cat and two pups, who keep life interesting.
I’m also a proud mom to my 23-year-old son, who serves as a marine technician in the Navy. Watching him build his own path has been one of my greatest joys.
Creative Women’s Week isn’t just an event — it’s a space where women gather, laugh loudly, create freely, and feel deeply supported. And I feel incredibly grateful to be the one who gets to bring it all together.
